Services for the LGBTQ+ Community
The Fertility Center of California is proud to serve the LGBTQ community. FCC’s number one priority is to help our patient(s) conceive a child. The fertility world can be difficult to navigate and/or prepare for, so please feel free to call our office to speak with a specialist at any time to start working on a plan or become familiar with what you will need to do for your specific situation.
Sperm and egg cryopreservation should be pursued prior to hormone therapy or surgery. Fertility Center of California is a CLIA-certified laboratory that can cryopreserve sperm. Our sister company, Family Fertility CryoBank, is a FDA-licensed Tissue Bank that can store your sperm, eggs, or embryos at highly competitive pricing.
Generally, artificial insemination is the best place to start your fertility journey. If no fertility concerns are present, then sperm supplementing is the only thing needed. Artificial insemination is not invasive and is far more economic than IVF treatment.
Same-sex male couples will need to use a surrogate and egg donor towards conceiving their child. Cryopreservation of sperm can be performed before starting to piece the other components together as cryopreserved sperm remains viable for years. Special testing will need to be performed along with the semen collections in order to use the sperm in a surrogate, known as directed donor testing.
